My life and other things people don't care about: Preformance finals

In my drama class we were assigined to get to groups of twos or threes, pick out a sence to perform and have it memerizied and almost perfect in two months. Sounds easy, right? It was. The play's were easy and she gave us about 45 school days to do it. Most of my group ( one of the girls in my group spent all her time telling us about her "boyfriends" and other crap that wasn['t true and boy did it get on my nerves)had it memerized by the third week because we stayed on track and didn't goof off like most of the groups. And you could tell when we did class preformnces.

Anyway, today was the finals. Me and my group went first and we did pretty good job in my humble opion. Then this one girl i really don't like, Hailey (she one of those rude mood-swings pretend to be emo/goth girls) went up with this other boy i don't like to do their play. They had spent the whole 45 school days ethier making-out or not talking to each other. And, Lo behold, they couldn't even get passed the first 3 mintues of their play. I hate those kind of people who don't even try.

You Know What's Weird: Christmas version

2. Alabama was the first state to recognize Christmas as an official holiday, and the tradition began in 1836.

3. In 1647, the English parliament passed a law made Christmas illegal. The Puritan leader Oliver Cromwell, who considered feasting and revelry on what was supposed to be a holy day to be immoral, banned the Christmas festivities. The ban was lifted only when Cromwell lost power in 1660. (And it took them 13 years to get rid of the doof? Jeez!)

4. Michigan has no official state song, but one, ‘Michigan, My Michigan,’ is frequently used. The words were written in 1863, and the melody used is that of the Christmas song “O Tannenbaum”. (Leave it to Michigan to have no imagination)

5. Franklin Pierce was the first president to decorate an official White House Christmas tree. (Do you think he did it personally? What about all those White House decorator duded?)

6. Electric Christmas lights were first used in 1854. (Which the fire department was very happy about.)

7. One town in Indiana is called Santa Claus. There is also a Santa, Idaho. (Talk about Santa coming to town.)

8. The Puritans forbade the singing of Christmas carols. (I wonder what they thought of beat poetry.)

9. America’s official national Christmas tree is located in King’s Canyon National Park in California. The tree, a giant sequoia called the “General Grant Tree”, is over 90 meters (300 feet) high, and was made the official Christmas tree in 1925. (And no doubt we’re paying that electric bill somehow.)

10. The first department store to feature a visit with Santa was the J. W. Parkinson’s store in Philadelphia in 1841. Astonishingly, no other department stores copied this event until 1890 when a store in Boston repeated it. Before long lines of children formed at stores across America to sit on Santa’s lap and tell him their Christmas wish list. The department store Santa has been immortalized in films such as Miracle on 34th Street and Christmas Story. (You’d think a store that innovative would still be around today.)

11. The most popular Christmas song of all time is Bing Crosby’s version of “White Christmas.” And “Silent Night”-arguably the most recognizable Christmas hymn-was written in 1818, by an Austrian pastor, Joseph Mohr. As Christmas Eve came, that year, the organ in his church was broken, so together with his friend, Franz Gruber, he wrote this new tune for the service that night, and played it on his guitar for his congregation.

12. “Jingle Bells” was originally written for a Thanksgiving celebration, in 1857.

13. The Christmas abbreviation-Xmas-is thought by some to be sacreligious, but in fact the first letter of the Greek word for Christ is chi, which is X. Before the invention of the printing press, “Xmas” was often used, in print, to save time and ink.

14. We celebrate Christmas on December 25th because in the fourth century, Pope Julius I announced that Christ’s official birthday would be December 25th. Prior to his ruling there had been a great deal of confusion. No-one was certain about the year, let alone the month or the day. (So, due to mass Alzheimer’s, the Pope picked a random date?)

My Opinion On Everything But Politics: "Childern should Be Seen Not Heard"

We all know the saying, "Children should be seen, not heard". I for one, hate that saying so much. If the world leaders would listen to us, we might be able to do brilliant things. Those adults just don't see the obvious. So if anyone ever says that to you, just get up and start dancing like a maniac and your parents will wish they never said it.

Random-ness: Mr. History's Spirit Week

The only spirit week I like is Mr. History's spirit week. Monday Is Wash Your Hands And Flush The Toilet For A Change Day, Tuesday is Be A Decent Human-being In The Hallway Day, Wednesday is No Meds Day, Thursday is Do Your Homework Day and Friday is Be Nice to Someone Not As Smart As You Day. I think it's brilliant!

My Opinion On Everything But Politics: Eigth-Grade Boys

In my humble opinion, the male class of human between the years of 8-18 are the dumbest organism in this whole freaking world. Its like some kind of unpreventable disease eats up there brain and makes it impossible to act like normal humans. They are rude and evil. This one kid i call squirrel-boy (he looks like a squirrel) call one of my some-what by-polar friend that she was a fat slut (which is not true at ALL). I mean, Who DOES that?! And there's this guy in my drama class who keeps saying things like "i know you want my wiener" and "you want to see my dike-cookie?"
Only a very sick person would say those things to me because I am a very big girl and could probably beat him up (which I am very tempted to do). There was a guy Toby (by the way, Toby is the only sensible boy I know) use to walk with and he was a Total preve. You can hear all about him on Aubree's Blog which is My Own Tomorrow.
Anyway, that is my opinion on eight-grade.

My Opinion On Everything But Politics: Twin Day

As many of you know, I absolutely hate spirit weeks because I hate our school because its full of people like codename girl thighs ( ask Becca)and D.S ( known to us as the grossest thing ever [you all know him]). But the day I utterly despise most is the legendary Twin Day. Me and Aubree are twins and (1) we do NOT dress alike, (2) we do NOT finish each others sentences, (3) we do NOT spend our weekends shopping with each other, doing our nails or any of that crap and (4) we are NOT BEST FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So we tend to find twin day stereotypical. Yes, we are able to read each others mind most of the time and we sometimes have the same dream. But we do not have the same finger prints so we are not the same person. Anyway I hate everybody who thinks this day is and I quote "fun". Opinion Finished

Moive Reveiws: Mama Mia!

The new movie Mama Mia ( based off the Broadway play [ which was based off ABBA songs]) has great songs and a good plot but is incredible chess-y, But that's what happens when you turn Broadway to the big screen. It's about this girl who wants her Dad to walk her to the alter on her wedding day but she has three possible dads. So she invites her dads over and the movie unfolds to an incredible musical. On my amazing scale of awesomeness the movie gets a 9 (just 'cuz it's not over 100 doesn't mean I didn't like it, it's just not as good as Ever After in my humble opinion

  • The only 15 letter word that can be spelled without repeating a letter is uncopyrightable
  • Cats have over one hundred vocal sounds, while dogs only have about ten.
  • Dueling is legal in Paraguay as long as both parties are registered blood donors.
  • The phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from an old English law which stated that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

  • If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes. (note: if the rider's head is up the horse's rear, the rider died a politician.)
  • Clans of long ago that wanted to get rid of their unwanted people without killing them used to burn their houses down - hence the expression "to get fired." ( do you think it will work on my new neighbors?!)
  • What do bullet proof vests, fire escapes, windshield wipers and laser printers all have in common?-- All were invented by women. ( once again proving we ROCK HARD)

Movie Reveiws : Ever After

Drew Barrymore stars as Danielle (Nicole) and Dougray Scott plays Prince Henry in this great re-telling of Cinderella. In starts out as most Cinderella story's do. Anyway, the stepmother is in huge debt and sells all the servants save for Danielle and two other women. One of theirs husband is about to ship off to the Caribbean. To save him, Danielle impersonates a Duchess. The prince meets Danielle when she is trying to save the servant. the story goes on in a great Romantic way an is prefect for a girls movie night. It has forbiden love, funny comments, a great plot, and PRETTY DRESSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On a scale from 1 to 10 I give it a 100,000,000,000,000,056.
